Apogee X-VID-SYC-GEN Video Expansion Card for Big Ben.
The Apogee X-VID-SYC-GEN Video Expansion Card is designed to fit in the X-Series card slot located in the rear panel of the Apogee Big Ben Master Digital Clock (sold separately). Allows all functions to be controlled from the Big Ben user interface and generates video and provides genlocking function. In genlocking mode the source video-signal will be re-clocked and regenerated, maintaining the same field and colorburst phase information, but stripped of its line information and replaced by video-black. In slave mode the board will auto-detect the incoming video-standard and configure itself accordingly. The video input is of very high tolerance and will even lock to unstable sources like VCR's.The Apogee X-VID-SYC-GEN Video Expansion Board has three modes of operation. •Master mode: The user selects the video format on the frontpanel of the Big Ben. The Big Ben will slave to the generated video signal •Attended Slave mode: The video board will be configured to autodetect and genlock to the incoming video. The Big Ben will slave to the incoming video signal •Unattended Slave mode: The video board will be configured to autodetect and genlock to the incoming video. The Big Ben is not clocking to the Video board and therefore both will function independentlyIMPORTANT NOTE for OS X Leopard compatibility To ensure your Apogee product works well with Mac OS X Leopard v10.5, it is critical that you follow the instructions provided at the Apogee website address below. If you have an existing Apogee software CD or a previously downloaded installer, please do not use it with Leopard. It's compatible with any CoreAudio software application using VBus for proper routing, and comes with Apogee's Maestro software for even more control and routing. So when you're ready to convert ideas into more concrete sounds, insert the Symphony Mobile ExpressCard interface into your MacBook Pro, connect the PCI-32 cable into either Apogee's X-series or Rosetta Series converters and you're ready to do your thing.NOTE: IMPORTANT NEW MACBOOK PRO COMPATIBILITYIn order to be compatible with Apple's new 15" and 17" MacBook Pros, the Symphony Mobile card requires a firmware update. If you do not perform this upgrade and try to boot with the Symphony Mobile card installed, the Mac will not boot properly. Simply remove the Symphony Mobile card and restart your computer. If your MacBook Pro is already booted and you insert the Symphony Mobile card, your Mac will become unresponsive. Again, just remove the Symphony Mobile card and restart. This firmware upgrade must be performed using a previous generation MacBook Pro.
