Carl Martin Surf Trem Vintage Series Guitar Effects Pedal.
The Surf Trem gets its tremolo circuit from the Carl Martin Tremovibe. With just speed and depth controls (just like an old tube amp), those classic tones are easy to achieve. The Surf Trem features a retro heavy die-cast case with 9V battery compartment, cool color, and heavy-duty bypass switch.Slow and dramatic (twin peaks) For the slow song with a lot of drama in the tone, tweak the depth knob up and set the speed to match the tempo of the song.Subtle vibe To give the guitar a subtle timbre or vibe, go easy on the depth knob and set the speed fairly high. This gives a light effect that can be used very often, as it will not dominate the song with a heavy character.Chainsaw Set both the depth and speed knobs high and use together with a fairly high-gain drive for a very powerful effect.. ...details

Carl Martin 2Wah Guitar Effects Pedal.
This familiar looking retro-styled foot pedal has an all-metal casing with a non-slip foot pad. The 2Wah pedal can be powered by 9v battery, but Carl Martin always recommends using a regulated power supply (like the Carl Martin Big John Power Supply) for maximum headroom and effect. Input is on the right and output on the left (remember your Wah should be the first pedal in your chain), and the standard effect on-off by stepping on the front of the rocker to engage the true bypass on-off switch. There are two 3-way mode switches on the front of the 2Wah pedal marked Low (red LED) and High (green LED). These are connected to an on-off switch at the back of the pedal (step on back of rocker to engage this switch). The three low and the three high settings are recreations of six of the most popular vintage wah sounds since the beginning of wah. The Attack knob allows you to fine-tune exactly how you want the rocker to modulate your guitar signal. Six different wah sounds, from Hendrix to Trower to Earth Wind & Fire and beyond, all in one guitar pedal. So why didn't they call it the 6 Wah? Well, you would have to ask Carl……The function of a wah pedal is to manually (by way of a rocker control) modulate your guitar's signal. Plug your guitar into the wah (input right) and then to other pedals, or your amp (output left). By stepping on the front of the rocker, you engage the on-off switch, and by stepping on the back of the rocker you engage the Mode switch. Select position 1, 2, or 3 in both High and Low Modes, engage the effect and fine-tune the attack of this effect by adjusting the Attack knob (also on the front of the 2 Wah). The green (Low) and red (High) LED's indicate which Mode you are in, with Low being typically for lead work, and High being used more often for rhythm work.. ...details

Carl Martin Compressor/Limiter Guitar Effects Pedal.
The Carl Martin Compressor/Limiter Pedal was specially developed to incorporate the same features and sonic clarity found in high-quality professional studio compressors. To achieve this Carl Martin incorporates a variable threshold, compression ratio, and attack/release controls and of course, a gain level. General Guidelines on the use of the Compressor/Limiter: Threshold: Working anti clockwise, determines how much of the signal will be compressed. This is also dependent on how much signal is fed from the instrument. Comp: Working clockwise, determines how much compression is applied to the signal allowed by the threshold setting. Resp: Working clockwise, determines the attack/release times, going from slow to fast. In general, if you want to hear the compressor working with a crisp attack you should use slow times. If you require silent limiting, you should use fast times. Gain: Working clockwise, sets the overall gain. Busy: Indicates the amount of compression being applied, even in bypass mode. The brighter it gets, the more compression is being applied. The Carl Martin Compressor/Limiter Pedal is ruggedly built by hand in Denmark.. ...details

Carl Martin Octa-switch Guitar Effects Switching System.
The concept of the Carl Martin Octa-Switch Guitar Effects Switching System is simple: take your 8 favorite effects pedals, plug them into the 8 individual loops (all true-bypass gold relays) on the Octa-Switch, and then designate what effects you want connected to each of 8 banks via the world's simplest and smallest DIP switches (located over the top of each of the 8 bank switches). When Carl Martin decided to create a baby brother for his world famous Combinator, the details of simplifying an already simple effect controller made his head hurt. So Carl enlisted the help of Thomas Guldmann, and the Octa-Switch Switching System was born.Thomas chose DIP switches because they are just 8 individual on-off switches in a tiny package. So if your guitar effects are plugged into Loops 1-8, you simply turn the DIP switch on for each of the effects you want in Bank 1, and then Bank 2 etc up to Bank 8. You can use one or all of the effects in each bank, and once you have designated a bank, do us both a favor and cover the DIP with a bit of tape to ensure nothing happens to the DIP switch when you are not looking… like an errant hand, or a flood of beer. The Octa-Switch has a blue LED for every effects loop used and for each bank (so once you are programmed, when you step on Bank 6 you will see the lights of all the effects you have assigned to Bank 6 and the Bank 6 LED).The Carl Martin Octa switch is mono-in and mono/stereo out, with a choice of a buffered signal or not. The effects unit is powered by dual 9v batteries, or a regulated power supply like the Carl Martin Big John Power Supply, and is housed in an all metal case with heart-stopping (ok, well almost) graphics. So, the same basic options found in the digitally controlled units the famous guys are using, at a fraction of the cost. Please note, the DIP switches are slide type, NOT push down. They are easily operated with a small screwdriver, a pen, or a very small finger. On large stages when running long connected cables, there is a definite drop in the high end of your guitar sound (more or less depending on the input impedance of your amplifier). The solution according to Thomas was once again simple. He built in a buffer circuit at the input, so you can choose between 100% true bypass, or buffered bypass to beef up your signal.. ...details

Carl Martin DC Drive Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal.
The Carl Martin DC Drive pedal has a few tricks up its sleeve. Besides the typical Level, Tone, and Drive knobs that control the signal volume, the tone, and the amount of overdrive, Carl has smartly added a clean boost after the drive section, and a Regular/Fat switch. In Regular mode, the drive is crisp and clear, suitable for anything that calls for old-school drive—switch over to Fat and the drive gets thicker with a lot more gain, bringing out a more modern sound. The result is a multi-use guitar pedal that allows you to have a variety of rhythm and solo volumes at your feet. The Bypass footswitch engages or bypasses the DC Drive pedal—turning it on or off. The red LED lights when the pedal is engaged. When the red LED is on, the Drive knob regulates the amount of gain (overdrive) you want to use—from almost clean turned full left, to high gain turned full right. The Tone knob sets the voicing or color of the overdrive, from dark at full left turn to crystal bright at full right turn. The Level knob simply sets the overall level or volume of the effect. When the red LED is on, choose the amount of Drive you prefer, color it with the Tone knob and then set the Level knob to equal your clean volume, or set the Level slightly higher than your clean signal. Check your settings by turning the pedal on and off with the Bypass switch to compare and fine tune. The Martin DC Drive also offers 2 pre-set voicings, which selectable via the toggle switch located between the Tone and Level knobs. The Regular (REG) setting is more neutral and flat, creating more of a generic overdrive. The Fat (FAT) setting is as it suggests—fatter and beefier, giving your overdrive a shot of steroids. Both of these voicings share the Drive, Tone and Level controls. The Carl Martin DC Drive is also a 2-in-1 pedal. Along with the Drive settings, there is another switch and knob on the left side of this pedal that will add another dimension to your sound. When you step on the Boost switch, the green LED will light, and you will be able to add from 0 to 15dB of crystal clear volume to your signal using the Boost knob. The Boost switch operates independently from the Drive section, so you can boost your clean signal or you can boost the Drive signal without coloring the sound. With the DC Drive you have 4 sounds available to you—your clean signal from the amp, the clean signal with the Boost, the Drive or overdriven signal, and finally the overdriven signal with the Boost.Like the rest of the Carl Martin Vintage effects pedal line, the DC drive comes in that cool retro die-cast housing with the equally cool chicken-head knobs and CM graphics. The pedal can be powered by 9v battery or regulated power supply (not included).. ...details

Carl Martin Classic Flange Guitar Effects Pedal.
Carl Martin's Vintage Flanger has 4 knobs to control Speed, Depth, Pre-delay and Feedback, plus a dual speed mode that is foot-switchable. There are no rules with a Flanger, just plug this versatile modulation pedal in and play, play, play. The Carl Martin Classic flange pedal's Bypass switch turns the effect on and off. The Classic Flange is not "true bypass," it has high-quality buffer circuitry. The Green LED lights up when the flange pedal is activated. The Carl Martin Classic Flanger offers two settings of speed, fast/slow select on the footswitch. The fast/slow settings share the same speed knob, therefore when changing the speed setting in fast mode, it will also change the speed in slow mode. The effect pedal's Speed knob controls the speed of the Flanger's sweep. In fast mode it can go very fast, sounding reminiscent of a Leslie rotating horn. At slowest, the speed provides a sweep that stretches very wide, good for alternate rhythm figures. The Depth goes from subtle to extreme, and works in tandem with the feedback control. The pre-delay sets the short delay time in which the Flanger operates, set to the extreme left it is the shortest time available, and to the extreme right it is the longest time available. The Carl Martin pedal's Pre-Delay controls what frequencies the Flanger accentuates, as it is a moving filter that sweeps up and down following the Speed control. In other words, it sets the flavor of the Carl Martin Flanger pedal's tone, from very swirly to rising and sinking curve, and everything in between. The Red LED flashes the speed setting in real time, so there is a visual indication on the speed chosen that flashes in bypass mode. The depth controls the amount of effect. It works closely together with the feedback. The pedal's Feedback controls the amount of signal that sends back through the sweepfilter, at low settings it gives a chorus-like sound. Increasing it adds a more hollow, ghostly sound, feeding some frequencies, and damping others. Simply put, it controls the amount of flanging needed for the effect, working closely with the Depth, and can be set into a controlled oscillation where the speed can be manipulated for fast or slow oscillations. As with all the Vintage pedals, the Carl Martin Classic Flanger comes in a solid, die-cast housing with the cool CM graphics and chicken-head knobs. The effect pedal can be powered by 9v battery or a regulated 9v power supply (not included).. ...details

Carl Martin EchoTone Delay Guitar Effects Pedal.
The Carl Martin Echotone delay guitar effects pedal may just be the only delay pedal you ever need. Imagine switching from a Manual time setting to a Tap time setting right at your feet, so you can play with your favorite slap-back echo on rhythm to a Tap (tempo), and set echo for that massive lead or solo. Combine this echo flavoring by installing a chorus, flange or even distortion pedal in the insert loop, and the switchable trail function at bypass and you get an echo effect pedal of unbelievable sound and dimension. The Carl Martin delay pedal's Echo switch activates or bypasses the Echotone, indicated by the LED on the unit being activated. Please note the Echotone is not true bypass, it features a high-quality buffered bypass, to ensure long cabling without loss. The delay pedal's Select switch lets you choose between the manual time setting and the Tap Tempo function. This function allows you to shift between two presets easily. The Tap Tempo lets you set the delay time simply by tapping the desired tempo on the Tempo switch with your foot (tap a minimum of two times or more as the Carl Martin EchoTone guitar pedal will always set the tempo after the last two taps). With the Manual time function chosen on the select switch you set the desired delay time on the chicken-head knob. Turning it clockwise creates faster delay time, while turning it counterclockwise produces longer delay. The Carl Martin EchoTone pedal's Echo knob lets you mix between dry and wet; the Feedback knob lets you choose the amount of echo you want; and the Tone knob lets you adjust the voicing on the repeats, from dark position in full counterclockwise to light in full clockwise. The tone will only affect the repeats, not the overall sound from the guitar. With the delay pedal's Loop you can insert an external effect device, like a chorus, phase, overdrive pedal, or EQ. With this you can either color or modulate the echo in a multitude of different ways with really cool results. Once again, the sounds produced in the loop only work on the repeats, not on the overall tone coming from the guitar. Inserting a modulation effect into the loop requires you to regulate the echo and feedback to lesser settings, as the feedback can go into oscillation if left in the same setting without modulation. The delay pedal's Trail switch lets guitarists choose whether you want trails on or off when in bypass mode. Trails are the echo ringing out when you bypass the effect pedal, in off position the effect stops immediately when bypassed. As with all the Danish built Carl Martin effects, the Echotone delay pedal comes in a low-profile housing, coated in a stunning off-white color, with a built-in 12v (+/-) regulated power supply. The Carl Martin Echotone's built-in power supply has an attached power wall plug cord, to run only on main power, not 9V battery or 9V adapter.. ...details

Many guitarists find that, while an effects pedal can be helpful with creating and using innovative sounds, sometimes the natural sound of the instrument is compromised. Thanks to the Carl Martin Paraloop effects pedal, that digital sound can be controlled. The Paraloop is a single loop box with a mix control, designed for most amplifiers' serial loops. When used in conjunction with digital multi effects processors, the Carl Martin pedal brings out the guitar's natural analog tone. By simply running an effects pedal all wet (with effects engaged), then blending it with the Paraloop pedal's wet/dry control, the result is a more natural and blended tone, giving guitarists a balanced sound with added control over the effects. The Carl Martin Paraloop single loop effect pedal allows you to mix your dry analog tone with the digitally processed sounds of a multi effects processor, so that the guitar sounds more natural and less digitized.. ...details

Carl Martin Buff Deluxe Boost Guitar Effects Pedal.
The Carl Martin Buff Deluxe boost pedal is designed to run in conjunction with large multiple effects boards with a lot of "true bypass" effects. The problem with "true bypass" is that it often still affects the instrument signal resulting in high note loss due the length of cables running from the guitar or bass to the pedal board and from board to amplifier. The Carl Martin Buff Deluxe works to avoid this loss of signal. The boost effect pedal has two buffers inside since many pedals have a tendency to drop high frequencies from the guitar signal, compromising the integrity of your overall tone. The Buff Deluxe boost pedal is easy to use and effective. Simply run the guitar directly into the buffer, then out to the pedals. Run the last pedal in the chain back into the buffer, and then plug the buffer into your amplifier. The result is stunning, with the guitar's original tone and feel intact. As an added bonus, the Carl Martin Buff Deluxe boost pedal's tuner out removes the tuner from the signal chain, while the mute switch provides silent and convenient guitar tuning so you don't annoy the audience or anxious bandmates around you.. ...details

You're at a gig and you've brought both an acoustic guitar and an electric guitar, but don't want to keep plugging and unplugging your instruments. Carl Martin's Match Box line selector has got you covered. Two instruments go through this one amp selector for seamless instrument transition. With it's select switch, you can simply route either of the instruments through the amp's gain circuitry, so not only can you shift between the two instruments. The line selectors can also adjust the gain in the Carl Martin Match Box, so you don't have to adjust gain on your amp every time you change instruments.. ...details

Carl Martin Classic Opto Compressor Guitar Effects Pedal.
An optical compressor performs gain reduction control via a light source into a photosensitive cell. As the light source gets brighter, the photo-sensitive cell sends a signal to reduce dynamic range, or what becomes a compressed signal. The Classic Opto Compressor pedal's four controls (from left to right) are the Gain, which controls the 'pre-glow' of the optical circuit (the more you turn this up, the fatter the sound); Level, which controls the overall volume of the compressor; Compression, which controls how hard or soft the compression is; and the Attack control, which takes the signal from transparent to outright total squeeze. The Bypass footswitch engages or bypasses the pedal. The red LED will be on when the compressor pedal is engaged. The Gain knob adjusts how much of the guitar signal you load the circuitry with. If you set the knob at left the compressor will not be very effective, the more you turn right the more effective the compressor becomes. The Carl Martin compression pedal can go from a very mild soft compression to really hard, beefed-up compression at full right. The gain knob will be interactive with the rest of the knobs, so the harder you load the circuitry, the more effective the Comp knob gets. The Carl Martin pedal's Level knob adjusts the output level from the pedal to match your clean sound. This is helpful when you are finished setting the gain, comp, and attack knobs, for the comp effect you want. The level knob can go from below unity level to several dB boost, so you can actually use the Carl Martin Classic Opto-Comp as a boost sustain pedal, to make your singing lead cut through to the audience. When you have set the gain knob to the right amount of signal you want to be compressed, set the amount or degree of compression on the Comp knob, going from nearly nothing at full left, to extreme hard compression at full right. The efficiency of the knob depends on how the gain and attack knobs are set.The Carl Martin Classic Opto compressor pedal's Attack knob adjusts and sets how fast the attack/release time shall be. At full left, the attack is fast, giving the compression a more neutral limiter presence. At full right, the compression is much more effective, providing a setting more suitable for fingerpicking style. The Carl MArtin compressor pedal comes in a solid die-cast housing with cool chicken-head knobs, CM color and graphics and a 9v battery compartment.. ...details
