Dan Dean Solo Strings Advanced.
Dan Dean Solo Strings ADVANCED (DDDSA) is a single DVD library comprised of violin, viola, and cello for the Native Instruments KONTAKT 2 Player. Solo Strings is packed with an array of great programming features, technologies, and ensemble presets. Convolution-Timbral and Reverb This is the first sampling product to employ Timbral Impulse technology developed with Numerical Sound. It allows you to match the DDSSA's sound to a captured snapshot of a different string section or solo instrument. Also included is a custom-created library of Reverb Impulses custom designed for use only with the DDSSA by Numerical Sound. The Dan Dean Solo Strings ADVANCED library is composed of 3 main instrument groups: All-In-One Instruments These instruments feature all articulations of each solo instrument (Violin, Viola and Cello) accessible via keyswitching. All six articulations are laid out on separate keyswitches—arco, spiccato, pizzicato, tremelo, half step trill, and whole step trill. This allows you instant articulation switching. Legato control via MIDI or pedal is implemented. Dan Dean has created special Short Attack sound files in addition to attack and release controls via MIDI as well. Alternation is also included in this group of instruments. Voice Control Instruments This is a new programming feature devised especially for this product. Dan Dean created a proprietary ensemble-building technology to transform the Solo String samples into beautiful, lush ensembles. Using the Voice Control feature, you can access a solo instrument, 3 instruments, or 6 instruments via keyswitching or modwheel. In the case of the violins, you can choose many different variants, from solo instrument to 2 Violin 1 + 1 Violin 2, 3 Violin 1, 3 Violin 1 + 3 Violin 2, 6 Violin 1, 6 Violin 1 + 6 Violin 2 (12 Violins). Each of these ensembles has a distinctly different timbre. All of the Ensemble presets were captured in 24-bit and are extremely quiet. We have added attack and decay control via MIDI and legato control via MIDI and sustain pedal. Legacy Programming These are the plug-and-play/drag-and-drop instruments you have become used to over the years. Find the instrument you want, open it, and play. Sustain pedal controls sustain. Keyboard velocity behaves as you would expect it to. If you want to adjust attack and sustain characteristics, it is ready via MIDI.Powered by the KONTAKT2 Plug-In KONTAKT2 is known for its great sound, many features, lower latency, and better overall performance. K2 has been thoroughly road-tested, and has more user hours than all of the other soft-samplers. Use DDSSA as a standalone application. KONTAKT2 works on the MAC in OS X (now supporting "Mactel" computers) or on the PC in Windows. Because DDSSA is a plug-in, open it in Logic, Pro Tools, Digital Performer, Cubase, Sonar, Garage Band or in any VST, DXi supported application. Dan Dean ProAudioVault Bluthner Digital Model 1 Grand Piano.
Samplist Dan Dean from Dan Dean Productions and audio architect Ernest Cholakis from Numerical Sound have joined forces in creating the new Blüthner Digital Model One Grand Piano in Native Instruments KONTAKT 2 Player format. This groundbreaking piano has been used by a wide variety of major recording artists, including The Beatles, Marlene Dietrich, and Neil Diamond, as well as composers like Claude Debussy, Franz Liszt, and Sergei Prokofiev. Now, thanks to this DVD, you can play it too, virtually, using technologies and features unique to Dan Dean Productions. This sample library was recorded at Skywalker Sound (a division of Lucasfilm, Ltd.)—one of the quietest studios in the world (both physically and electronically) with superb acoustics, excellent technical implementation, hand-selected microphones, cables, and preamps with Pacific Microsonics digital converters so as to optimize the front end for the highest detail sample recordings.Multiple Layers and Multiple Timbres There are 12 layers of samples, including both pedal up and pedal down versions, utilizing our Dan Dean's Discrete Sustain technology. The number of samples totals well over 2,000. The BDMO's pedal down samples have air and depth in a spacious stereo field. Every sustain sample is unique—not modeled or computer generated. Using their proprietary techniques and algorithms, PAV's samples have an extremely low noise floor compared to other digital pianos on the market.Recorded dry The BDMO is close miked, meaning that there are no room reflections or acoustic ambience in the sample recordings. Close miking gives you far greater sonic detail and allows you to add the reverbs you choose—or use the custom created Impulse Response reverbs.Extremely Wide Timbral Range Finally, all the very low level detail of the piano have been captured with noise-free pppp, ppp, and pp samples. ProAudioVault (PAV) placed special emphasis on accurately capturing and programming the Blüthner's rich and colorful low velocity dynamics. Most digital pianos' low levels start at PAV's level 5 or 6. When you play the BDMO, it is a truly evocative playing experience.Convolution The BDMO comes loaded with 3 types of custom-designed Convolution: Timbral, Reverb, and Sustain. Since PAV captured the BDMO in a close-miked perspective, the samples are dry and optimized for use with their proprietary Impulse Response technologies. Timbral Impulses are literally sonic fingerprints of over 260 individual pianos and piano recordings. You can instantly see the basic frequency response of each of the TI's by looking at the Timbral Impulse Frequency Display.Timbral Impulse Groups With the push of a button, you can instantly transform the BDMO's sound into one of over 260 discretely different pianos from seven TI categories: •Classical. Timbres captured from some of the world's finest pianos and piano recordings from the past century. PAV's Timbral. ...details
